Hope for justice

We endeavor to be the "light of the world" and bring the hope of Jesus through connections and community and social justice. These ministries of Word, Service, Compassion, and Justice are past and present, and demonstrate our commitment to the work of liberation for all. Our latest initiative is a Lenten Devotional Bible Study from GCORR, The United Methodist General Commission on Religion and Race, called "Learning Together: A Lenten Exploration of Anti-racist Values in Matthew, Mark, and Luke." We are developing special programming for a Summer time UMC-promoted Bible Study which will have monthly zoom gatherings, YouTube podcasts with special guests, video shorts, and more. The book has 9 chapters and we anticipate engaging in different ways for 9 weeks (Introduction week June 5, 2025, to August 14, 2025 for a recap). Justice for women

Hero Starts With Her sought to empower women of all ages to the greatness they are called to. A sisterhood for connection, support, and encouragement, we believe in straightening each other's crowns when we need it, giving a hand up, and reminding each other how important our voices are in our spheres of influence. Hundreds of women throughout the time of this ministry enjoyed HSWH events with child care, refreshments, worship with a live band, a powerful message, and prayer time.

Current Conversations

Current Conversations brought current event issues that pushed back on the message of Jesus into conversation. We learned from each other how we, as disciples of Jesus, need to show up in the world.

Racial Justice

The Colors of Hope

Our church continues thoughtful engagement and confronts themes of diversity in a variety of ways, though this initiative sunsetted in 2023. We deployed a social media journey celebrating diversity through artful expressions. We developed programming on related subjects in Children's ministry, youth ministry, and leadership & discipleship events. Social activities, book studies, and Bible studies brought people of diverse backgrounds together.

LGBTQ Justice

Alternate Perspectives

This series helped highlight the love of God for our LGBTQ family. We learned how we could be more loving, more inclusive, and how to challenge systems and attitudes that harm.
